Meaning and Thoughts: Dont quite remember how this word came up, but it means something the way we say deep blue sea in English (although it doesnt have blue in the name in Japanese!)

New Phrase: ばんのう (万能)
Meaning and Thoughts: I was hanging out with a coworker at work, and asked for a new Japanese word, they looked this one up in a dictionary and told me, this can mean (among other things) "omnipotent" or something, coolness.

New Phrase: おせち
Meaning and Thoughts: I've learned this word years ago, but I often forget about it since its only used once a year. This is new years traditional food and thats kinda hard to translate. Special food, often looking like a lunchbox set, for the holidays.

New Phrase: そうだん （相談）
Meaning and Thoughts: This means like consultation or like when someone talks to you in order to get something off their chest, so to speak.

New Phrase: くちばし　(嘴)
Meaning and Thoughts: Heres another one I forgot to blog here, how many did I forget?? This one is useful, it means beak as in mouth of a bird. Yo!

New Phrase: シャボンだま　（シャボン玉）
Meaning and Thoughts: I learned this word a few months ago, but I forgot to blog it here. This word means soap bubbles as in the ones you can blow out and around and have fun with. This is a classic example of something coming from not English and becoming katakana and resulting in a word Japanese people think is English. (Its Portuguese I believe, from sabão meaning soap.)
