がっしゅく (合宿)

i dont think i ever added this to my list and i heard it used tonight so i thought i would. litterally it means to "lodge together" but i think i herd it tonight as "sleepover" as in when all the kids stay over at school.

あいまい (曖昧)

Yet another word from my current book. This one is "vague" (how ever you spell that in English! haha) as in being not clear.

へそのお (臍の緒)

I have kinda know this word for awhile but never used it until yesterday. this is "umbilical cord" (that thing that connects to a baby's belly button when theyre born) and if you dont know; へそ part is "belly button/navel"

I stumbled on these words and dont know how common they are but theyre cool for their metaphorical double meaning.

かりゅう (下流)
down stream OR lower class?!
じょうりゅう (上流)
up stream OR upper class?!

Once again I didnt learn these from a primary source (book, magazine or person) so not so sure about these but thought I'd share!

ゆがむ (歪む)

Another word from my current book. This action word means "to get bent" or "to warp" or something of that sort of meaning.

ヘトヘト

This is a "sound word" (thing or na-adj) that you say to express the emotion "wiped out" (as in totally tired)

はんぱ (半端)

This one wasnt so easy to guess by the kanji, even though familiar. Litterly "incomplete" or "fraction" of something. It seems to mean "idiot" if you add 者 (もの, in this case) to the end or an odd job (as in not regular?) if you add 仕事 (しごと) to it. From the book I'm reading.

はんそで (半袖)

In my book, "short sleeves" ...why didnt i remember this?

ブラウンかん (ブラウン管)

This word will be useless in about 10 years since they are disapearing but this is the commmon way to say "cathoid ray" display/TV or like old style CRT (not LCD) type of display.

As soon as i read this nounーverb I understood it based on context and kanji meaning, but wanna memorize it.
たかい (他界)
Used like the english euphamism "pass away" when someone dies.

かおく (家屋)

Read this online. The kanji explains this one but it means "house" or establishment that sort of thing.

めんくらう (面食らう)

I learned this verb backwards from an english learning magazing at work, its to be totally "flabbergasted" or bewildered or whatever.
