ろうあ (聾唖)
This came up in a conversation about sign language. It means "deaf" and sometimes "deafmute". I learned blind years ago (and put in this blog i think) but for a refresh, blind is: もうもく (盲目)

ももひき (もも引き)
long johns, leg warming old people under garment things. glenn taught me this one.

けだもの (獣)
This word litterly meaning "beast" can be used against someone such as saying "You brute!" saw this on a japanese fansub of southpark in the context of このケダモノ could also be said けもの or more rare じゅう ..Of course this word also shows up in a lot of words to do with animals, my favorite いっかくじゅう (一角獣) meaning of all things unicorn (ユニコーン) ...but also the useful にくしょくじゅう (肉食獣) carnivore (makes sense! oddly or not, herbivore doesnt use it: そうしょくどうぶつ (草食動物) which still makes sense i guess, and a little web searching shows these arent set in stone. じゅう and どうぶつ could maybe be swaped. By the way, omnivore is ざっしょくどうぶつ(雑食動物) Nice!) ...also じゅうい 獣医 veterinarian uses it cleverly. beasty wordys!

うせつ (右折)
Frank's (from work) word of the day becomes my new one. "Right turn" as in the direction

尾 (お) tail, i learned しっぽ wonder if thats ok too?
前足 (まえあし) foreleg
後ろ足 (うしろあし) hind leg
足の先 (あしのさき) paw, cant find this in digital dictionary. hmmm

ののしり (罵り)
Nice! this means to "curse" or swear (insult) from this context 罵り声(こえ)をあげるのが聞こえる(きこえる)
Now you can complain about when your boss swears!

まんなか (真中)
i knew this word but didnt know the kanji. This means "middle" or center. You might also see ド真中 (土真中) if it means "right in the center" directly in the middle...
Also used with colors as an intensifer like 真っ黒 (まっくろ) "pitch black" etc

ぼんやり
You dont wanna be this, means "blockhead" or a dork or something like that. The context was: 自分(じぶん)がぼんやりしているのがよくわかった。 (if that helps ya!)

けが (怪我)
Reading a book, this chapter they used "injury" (or cut) when talking about a soccer game

さそい (誘い)
this is useful when having a party, if you wanna say invitation

extra note: as a way to speed up the updating process i will now update most new words direct from my phone at the same time i learn them. this means less pretty format/grammar but it makes sure i remember to update this blog

New Phrase: じょうけん (条件)
Meaning and Thoughts: My kind of boss at work (we dont currently have any "real" bosses left) asked me how to say terms or (contract) conditions and I didn't know, we looked it up and this is what we got. Useful when complaining about bad work situations I guess?

New Phrase: Japanese quiz show words
Meaning and Thoughts: I watched a quiz show about hard words, some of these were supposed to be hard for Japanese people too so I don't know how useful this is.

Whats this one called?

アンモナイト (or in English ammonite) I didnt know either language! Its like some fossilized shell thing I guess? Next!

It means しょうぼうしょ (消防署) which is "fire station" if you didn't know, in map symbols (ちずきごう, 地図記号) but it is so rare that currently Wikipedia doesnt even have it (I'm thinking about changing that right now since Japanese Wikipedia has it!)

Also had a a symbol for 老人ホーム (ろうじんホーム) which I knew but hadn't used recently, so I thought I would record old folks home here just in case I forgot again. (the symbol was so easy i think so not putting it here! ha!)

This show also taught me these two cool phrases... 二階から目薬 (にかいからめぐすり) which is an expression for trying to do something over and over again even though it cant be done, thus eye drops from the 2nd floor! nice! and also... のどから手が出る (のどからてがでる) which means predictably really really wanting something (so much that a hand comes from your throat! wow freaky!)

New Phrase: バツグン
Meaning and Thoughts: This not so often used word (atleast not these days) was being used by my coworker, I asked someone else about it and learned that it predictably means (in a macho sense) extremely as in the context バツグンにうまい if you get that.

New Phrase: こてこて
Meaning and Thoughts: When something is too much, or over the top this sound word is used. My context was using too much sauce on my lunchbox (could also mean thickly).

New Phrase: イチャイチャする
Meaning and Thoughts: I was having a funnyass drunk conversation, and this phrase came up. It means to make out as in heavy kissing style. Flirting might come out as いちゃつく but that might mean more like physical? Could even come across the related word じゃれる (frolicking or some sort!) if talking about all this.

New Phrase: flower names
Meaning and Thoughts: I was bored at work, and looked up some flower names (knew some already) in English, these should help you have a conversation the next time you are chilling out in a green house, yo! (of course this is an incomplete list!)

New Phrase: ぼしゅう (募集)
Meaning and Thoughts: This was used in the sense of looking for (tenets) on the side of where I work. Although it could be used to mean taking applications and stuff too.

New Phrase: さんぎ
Meaning and Thoughts: This is Hokkaido accent for "fried chicken" or something. I love accents, this can only be heard around Hokkaido, dont try to use it in Tokyo... no one will understand you!
