めまい (目眩)

I am doing my Chinese homework (in Japanese) and learning all the basic words, today's theme was Being Sick and it was fairly easy. But I noticed a word that was a gap in my Japanese vocabulary. Its "dizzy" and I should have known it. The context was simple: めまいがします

しょうじる (生じる)

I knew the base kanji (生) so i could kind of guess what this ment but it still confused me a bit so here it is. Means like "to result from" like generated, to arise, produce--- that sort of thing. There you have it.
