はつめい (発明)

Perfect for todays thundery weather (when the lighting hits the clock tower and travels down these wires into the flux capasitator...! hahaa) anyway, this word came up in a conversation last night. its "invention" as the abstract thing that is invented by the inventor (predictabally: はつめいか (発明家) or はつめいしゃ (発明者) the second seems maybe a tad less formal?)
