こんかつ （婚活）

I heard two students talking about marriage. One student said she was "searching for a partner" (hunting for a marriage partner) an interesting word. Short form of 結婚活動 （けっこんかつど） which litterly means 'marriage activites' but translitterly maybe something like 'activities to get married'. 活動（かつど）'activity' can be used in all sorts of other cases, such as 火山活動（かざんかつど） 'volcano activities' (NOT active volcano which is the opposite word order 活火山（かつかざん） opposite meaning [dormant] is clearly 休火山（きゅうかざん）!) ...or 営業活動 （えいぎょうかつど）'business activities' and what not.
